Sidd and his Self Esteem Where to start? Sidd is a songwriter with a penchant for the angular and obtuse, yet with a lyrical approach good enough to stand alone as prose. Think Jack Kerouac, but more forgetful.

The Self-Esteem is his vehicle.

Sammy – 50% Bonham, 50% Platini, 100% Sexy. The engine of the Self-Esteem and a veteran of that United Nations music entity known as The Ocean Band. It’s French alright, but this engine starts up first time every time.

Angshu – The primal guitar ability of Johnny Greenwood combines with the introspect of Gandhi in a tour de force of Telecaster terror, sans pedals! When he’s not playing guitar, Angshu impersonates such celebrities as Sir Paul and Stevie Wonder in the blogosphere. If the vehicle that is the Self-Esteem has upholstery, Angshu is it.

Jonathan – The only person in the band able to order food and ask the whereabouts of the washroom in Mandarin, Cantonese and Hokkien. If the Self-Esteem needs tyres, it’s his P-bass driven lines that provide much-needed traction.

Sidd & His Self-Esteem; feeling good about yourself never sounded this good.

Quasimondo sounds like an all-male 60’s girl group oxymoron. They like jangly guitars, sad singer songwriters, tambourines, doe-eyed pretty girls, jazz standards, 60’s girl groups, dancing till dawn, love songs, Jens Lekman, Botanic Gardens on sunday mornings, Fort Canning Park on weekday evenings, Edith Piaf, Britpop, Audrey Tautou, hyperactive toddlers, hobos with harmonicas, group hugs, behaving like girls at gigs, cult comic books, Noam Chomsky, staying up late the night before recording sessions and falling asleep during recording sessions. In full Stasis tradition, we are holding a Pre-Stasis gig to kick-start the days leading up to Stasis 10 (hence the name). This is where you can get your Stasis 10 tickets at pre-sale price of $12!

Due to unfortunate circumstances Knightfall had to drop out..but Sidd and His Self Esteem are now on board!

So…while you are planning your weekend, do come down to our Pre-stasis gig at Earshot. Just chill out and enjoy.

While you’re at it, don’t forget to join our official Facebook group: Stasis 10: The Last Jam.
